Moriah School of Discipleship (MSOD) located in Maseno, Kisumu County was began in the year 2013 with the aim to bring to change lack of developed and mature followers of Jesus who are able to make disciples who can make disciples. This has been one of the challenges in the world Christian movement. Not many current Christian churches are making adequate effort to go out to reach the many unreached and non-believers with the word of God.
The training is run for a period of six months targeting fresh high school leavers who are ready to undergo the six month training as they wait for their national examination result and subsequently join colleges/university. The training is run from the month of January to June, the motto is MAKING DISCIPLES WHO MAKE DISCIPLES. The program is modelled on the program on the following objectives;
¨ Understanding that Jesus gave the church just one game plan; make disciples who can make disciples. Everything in Christian ministry should be measured by this yardstick for if we make disciples who make disciples, the church will succeed.
¨ Follow the model Jesus used in disciple making: be an intentional leader, disciple in a relational environment, and use of reproducible process.
Some of the key areas the students have been able to appreciate during the training includes;
The mission work target unreached communities in various areas in the country. The mission work takes a minimum of 2 months. Areas targeted are Baringo, Marsabit and Garissa.
The school charges a subsidized rate of Ksh 25,000 for the 6 months training period.
The program is transforming with some students who had never given their lives to Christ get born again and ready to disciple to others inspired through the great command as recorded in Mathews 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, the son and holy spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
