Moriah School of Discipleship
Founded in 2013 by Mathare Community Outreach, Moriah School of Discipleship was established to meet the growing need for discipleship among young people graduating from high school. Now located in Nyakach, Kisumu County, the school runs a seven-month residential training program (January–July) that equips youth to become Christ-centered leaders, grounded in Scripture and ready to impact the world.
Our Focus Areas
Moriah’s curriculum blends biblical foundations with practical life skills, preparing young believers to thrive in faith, career, and service. Key areas of training include:
- Discipleship Dynamics – Understanding Jesus’ command to make disciples who multiply.
- Basic Bible & Theology Courses - Rooting faith in the Word of God.
- Leadership Training - Building servant leaders of character and integrity.
- World Missions & Field Exposure - Inspiring a global vision for ministry and service.
- Practical Life Skills – Farming, creative arts, and entrepreneurship for self-reliance.
Our Guiding Vision & Mission
- Vision: To raise a generation of young people equipped holistically through the Word of God.
- Mission:To nurture through teaching, correcting, and training so that young followers of Christ are thoroughly equipped for every good work in their areas of calling and career development.
Our guiding Scripture is 2 Timothy 3:16–17:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Success Stories
Over the years, Moriah has witnessed powerful transformation among its students. Others, once trapped in destructive habits like drug abuse, are now living testimonies of renewal.
Beyond spiritual growth, students have gained hands-on skills in dairy farming, poultry, and horticulture, enabling them to contribute to their families and communities through sustainable livelihoods.
