Kariobangi is a low income residential estate in the northeastern part of the city consisting of both slum-type and tenement type of buildings. Most of the buildings suffer from chronic lack of maintenance, and illegal land grabbing has converted vacant land, some of which were intended for entrepreneurial development (light industries and small and medium size enterprises) into more residential estates. This has eliminated much of the potential that existed to improve its economic situation.
The centre was started in the year 1997 by Bishop Daniel Ogutu with an objective to cater for orphans and the vulnerable children affected by HIV AIDS.At that time there were only 6 children,it now caters for for over 100 children both boys and girls from age of 4years upwards.While in the home children enjoy a well-balanced diet(3 meals a day),shelter,education,every child has their own bed and bedding and personal items.The home is part of a church basedproject called outreach community centre.
To provide a christian home environment that will enhance development of every child i.e spiritually,physically and educational needs.
To be a home where everyone can thrive as part of an extended family acquiring and developing key emotional,spiritual and social skills in early life
To provide education and skills that will enrich individuals and prepare them to face the outside world responsibly using their God given potential
Children are encouraged to play in various games such as football,netball,basketball and with small balls for their physical development.The home having a shamba has room for development in agricultural activities where we grow vegetables like spinach,maize,bananas,beans,pumpkin,passion fruits and nutritional supplements to reduce malnutrition.
To develop an orphaned child to a responsible mature adult ,empowered to address social,economic,physical and spiritual needs to the glory of GOD.

The entire management is vested on a board appointed by outreach community church.It oversees the management of the home.There is a well qualified couple who runs the home on a daily basis,they make operational decisions,duties as well as parenting the children.
The home is firmly based on a Christian foundation which entails daily devotions with Christian teachings,individual and peer counselling and prayer.Records are also well kept to monitor closely every child's progress and development
An orphan with no relative able to provide the care needed.Children aged 4-10 years,identified by the social workers,whose cases are genuine and each child having an independent person e.g Pastor supporting the application
We are making a difference to the children in this community and giving them hope for a better tomorrow
Through the various programs we run,we've been able to bring change to the minds of this young children
We hope and pray for bigger and better life for this young children
